Nicole Tourangeau

Hi there, I'm Nicole and my main goal in supporting you is to meet you were you are at and walk alongside you. I believe that counselling, while vulnerable for most, can offer so many benefits such as increased self awareness, self-compassion, improved emotional health, new tools and support, etc. I'm a registered social worker and have been working in mental health and providing clinical supervision since graduating with my Masters in 2017. Over the years, I've worked with a wide range of ages from childhood to adulthood with my focus on a variety of challenges that people face including: trauma, depression, anxiety, suicidal ideation, grief and loss, family relationships, burnout/return to work, foster care/adoption, etc. I will draw on my many years of experience to offer you the support and skills you need.

I grew up in Kamloops and spent many years working in Northern British Columbia and overseas. I am proud of my Indigenous, Irish, and Norwegian background, which informs my practice. I'm glad to be able to offer culturally inclusive, trauma-informed, and person-centred supports.

In my toolbox of therapeutic techniques, I draw upon Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, and Indigenous-Focused Orientating Therapy, Emotions Focused Therapy, as well as suicide risk and prevention. I recognize that each person has unique and individual needs, which is why I take an individualized approach using the treatment modalities listed above.

I'm currently accepting new clients and offer in person and virtual 50-minute counselling sessions designed to help you navigate life’s challenges from the comfort of your own space.

I would be happy to connect with you to learn more about what kind of services you are looking for and how I can best help you! Please reach out anytime.
